frankie magazine (with a lower case ‘f’) started because two women knew the market was missing something. A magazine with diverse topics from design to music to photography and onwards. 50 issues in and it’s one of the most renowned slabs of paper in news agents, book stores and the mag market.
The Pixel Trade was a result of how I treat press surrounding this project. frankie wanted to do a feature and I was happy to, if there was some form of trade associated with it. After being interviewed over the phone by the very talented fiery red haired Georgia, we organised that I would come and shoot the Melbourne office for their side of the trade. It wasn’t until Georgia heard my voice crackle over the phone that she realised Shantanu is a name given to males.
