Combine three guys, three square meals and more than three beers, and you wind up with a bar and restaurant that’s the cloaked superhero of the food world. Crosstown is the name of this place and it serves some of the finest produce and liquid love in Brisbane and beyond. 

The Pixel Trade was a 16-hour day of shooting: a day in the super-life of Crosstown. From the first dawn cigarette being ignited before the doors’ opening treatment to the girls flying home to bed in the dwindling light, I captured it all. It’s important to realise how much work goes into a good restaurant in terms of the prep, speed, long hours and adaptability. I witnessed it from the morning’s first coffee to the last digestif and walked out with a full stomach that was appreciated like never before. Note: the memory card that had the photographs of the girls flying home was strangely corrupted.
