‘The fridge is full...This is the house...Forecast, rain...Bye!’ Out the door they went and for the rest of the weekend it was me, the house, rain and peace. Chris and Melanie designed their minimalistic modern home to act as a quiet sanctuary. A place where the business and chaos in their lives would stop on the sun filled walls and the podium tree in the courtyard. They have a small architectural practice in Sydney called Mury Architects and do a whole range of neat projects.

The Pixel Trade was photographing their home. When you spend three days in a house like this, you get to watch the light change, find the hidden details and experience how one lives in this space rather than just observing it. I watched the rain fall on the clear skylight, the sun create shadows on the walls from the trees outside and best of all I felt a little bit grounded after spending so much time on the go.
