Andrew Griffiths, aerial photographer
Humble. The great thing about humble people is the search one needs to embark upon in order to hear about their achievements, stories and modern adventures; all of which are ALWAYS insanely interesting. So it is with Andrew, an aerial photographer based in Melbourne, who was as humble as they get. Each story I squeezed out of him left me even more amazed. Sort of like hearing Henzel & Gretel for the first time as a child...
The Pixel Trade was focused on creating a behind the scenes documentation of Andrew as he worked his gear in all sorts of locations and ways. It started with taking his drone out flying around the suburbs of Melbourne and moved onto a 70m high cherry picker above the streets for an afternoon session of shooting for one of his clients. We finished with what he does best, aerial photography from helicopters. For the first time in my life I felt the rush of the helicopter blades pushing the winter air past my body as we hung above the city of Melbourne. The light faded as we landed back on the ground and from that point on I was not coming down. It would be a new millennium crime if you didn’t go and check out what he can do from the air over on his website here.
