BVN + Donovan Hill Architects

Where I type this text from is within architecture. I walk the streets of a city or an old country town with cows eating green behind the fences and sure enough architecture is all around too. It’s inevitable to do much without the influence of built structures. BVN + Donovan Hill are two recently merged architectural practices in Australia who spread their influence far and extremely wide. Stepping into their Sydney office space was a little back flash of the industry I was getting involved with before this project.

The Pixel Trade was based in their Sydney & Brisbane offices, quiet sanctuaries removed from all the downtown horns, 4 wheels and shouting pedestrians. Days of shooting within these spaces and capturing the details and occupants allowed me to see another side of architecture, which I didn’t pay much attention to in the past. Architects spend so much of their time studying the behaviour of human beings but in this case they were the ones being studied.
