Hilary Skelton, owner | Walkerville Kiosk
Daniel Encel, owner | Walkerville Kiosk
The first morning I was in Gippsland, Victoria, I decided to take the cameras on a stroll to the waterside, which I could see from the house. This meant venturing through cow territory. I’ve been on a lot of farms growing up but the experience I had here was something else. The moment I jumped the fence, cows from the distance stared heading towards me with absolute excitement... and speed. Closer and closer they got until I started to think, are they going to stop? I shuffled my feet in the other direction, but this only made them hit the gas even harder. I stopped and turned around, they paused and watched me with eager eyes. I turned my back and before I could take another step...(to be continued in print). This was a morning when I felt like an object of curiosity.
The Pixel Trade was a few days in beautiful rural Victoria with Hilary & Daniel who, not only own and run a wicked kiosk by the oceanside, but create incredible home made ice cream too. The idea of the shoot was to start a branding style for their ice cream which will be sold on a slightly bigger scale but remain local on the most part. Spending time with these two increased my sugar levels like flood waters to a dam and I learnt a thing or two about this part of Australia.
