‘Meet me outside Vudu Cafe’ was the final email I got from Annika before seeing her exactly there, underneath the Vudu sign. Within the first 5 minutes of speaking, Annika offered me a sim card for New Zealand and an invitation to join her and her friends for a Queenstown mountain bike rumble in the pine jungle. Annika has started her own design practice called Ha Ha Media based right out of Queenstown. She also has no shortage of bruises and wounds on her legs to signify her active life.

The Pixel Trade was to spend an afternoon shooting the details and characters found in Annika’s apartment and workspace. Every pot plant, every window sill, every single corner in her space had a story about something in her life. At one point we had crackers, olives, rocket, avocado and fetta cheese making its way to our taste buds... from that point on I was so high on tasty life all I remember was finishing the shoot with her green machine automobile next to Lake Wakatipu.
