Lauren Stern, mum
I have dug into the vault of my mind where I keep my memories and either I forgot the combination to a particular memory with, or simply, there is no memory for this one moment I am currently thinking of. You see I cannot recall if I promised the Sterns that I wouldn’t share a very simple sentence Tony said on the first night I was trading with them. It had only been a few hours and he was describing how Lauren and his good self had hit it off back in the day and the distraction she was to the fitness he was involved in. In Tony’s words, ‘it was a winter morning and I had a decision, either I go out into the cold water and swim or I...’ Maybe I wont share this just yet, but I knew from that moment on this trade was going to be perfect.
The Pixel Trade was focused on capturing my interpretation of the area they had moved to a few months before. The area is known as Venice Beach. A place full of endless characters, stories, settings and culture. The other part of the trade was to keep an eye on the family as they went about their day and photograph these moments. Besides all the great stories I was also treated to incredible food, wine, gin and the most hidden leftwing bars you could possibly find in Los Angeles.
