Marla Mendelsohn, chef
In New Jersey lives a woman who has so much energy bursting from her personality she would have been the perfect power source for Manhattan during hurricane Sandy. Whilst many people have tapped into this woman’s energy, it’s the ones that get to taste her food that really get a kick out of what she has to offer. This was New Jersey now, a new set of rules, food and Christmas decorations.
The Pixel Trade was a single afternoon shoot. Marla was excited to share the tricks of how to chop onions without crying and get a few location photographs of her kitchen for the cooking classes she holds there. We also did a few 'takes' of filming the onion chopping trick, I decided to use one continues shot as it shows Marla's character in it's raw state. This little power station of a woman then got up at 4:00am to drop me to the airport for my flight back to Los Angeles.
